When the Clean Air Task Force and its state partner groups were preparing to launch a national awareness and advocacy campaign on the health impacts of diesel soot, they knew that a report and press releases would only go so far. Zakon Group developed an interactive Web site allowing visitors to navigate and view the health impacts to them at the national, state, county, and metropolitan area levels. The information on the site, such as charts and graphs are dynamically generated from a database back-end, and Zakon Group integrated a geographic information system (GIS) to generate the maps. A tailored view is also automatically provided for each of the partner groups, making it seem to a visitor that they are still browsing the group's site.
