Zakon Group to Offer Security Training at International Conferences
Conway, NH - September 28, 2009 - Zakon Group has been selected to present its web development security course at three international conferences this fall. With over fifty percent of critical computer vulnerabilities caused by poorly developed web applications, Zakon Group saw a need to educate developers and development managers on secure coding practices, web attacks and how to prevent them.
After presenting the course at last year's Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC), Zakon Group's chief technology officer, Robert Zakon, has been invited back to present an updated version of the course at this year's conference in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Zakon says that "having received an average rating of better than 9.0 out of 10 from last year's ACSAC attendees, it was clear that a need was being met, and it only made sense to explore additional venues for teaching the course."
Also this fall, Zakon will present the course at the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) AppSec DC conference in Washington, DC, a premier gathering of information security leaders. OWASP events attract a worldwide audience, and AppSec DC is expected to draw 600-700 technologists from a wide array of business, government, and academic sectors.
A half-day version of the course will also be taught at the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Computer and Communications Security (CCS) Conference in Chicago. CCS is a leading international forum for information security researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. Sponsors of the CCS conference include Google, Microsoft Research, IBM Research, National Science Foundation, and National Security Agency.
