Zakon Hosts International Security Workshop at White Mountain Hotel

Conway, NH – August 20, 2007 – When organizers of the New Security Paradigms Workshop (NSPW) were looking for a place to host their fifteenth annual event, Robert Zakon knew just where they should have the event. That is how Zakon came to join NSPW's organizing committee and bring this international workshop to the Mount Washington Valley this fall.

Zakon is the Chief Technology Officer at Zakon Group LLC, a web technology and management consulting firm based in the Mount Washington Valley. He has been involved with the information and computer security community for over a decade, conducting research and development, providing technical and policy guidance to both private firms and the US government, and ensuring the security of Zakon Group clients' web sites. Zakon also serves as the web advisor to the Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, and it was at this event last year that he met the NSPW General Chair and made the suggestion of hosting the workshop in the Valley.

For fourteen years the New Security Paradigms Workshop has provided a stimulating and highly interactive forum for innovative approaches to computer security. The workshop offers a constructive environment for experienced researchers and practitioners as well as newer participants in the field. The result is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas that is typically not found in larger events.

The NSPW steering committee prefers holding the workshop at unique locations, and tries to alternate between Europe and North America. Last year's NSPW was held at Schloss Dagstuhl, a castle in southwest Germany. Other prior locations have included Ireland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, California, and Virginia. This year's event will be held September 18-21 at the White Mountain Hotel and Resort in North Conway, NH.
