Zakon Helps Organize Computer Security Conference

Conway, NH – December 19, 2006 – When the Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC) was held last week in Miami Beach, Robert Zakon, CTO of Zakon Group LLC, was present to participate in another successful event of the premier information security practitioner's conference. Zakon has been a member of the ACSAC organizing committee for the past nine years, having originally become involved with the conference when he was an information security researcher and policy advisor to the US government and its allies.

ACSAC brings together researchers, academics, and industry experts from around the world to share their work and explore technology applications in the area of computer security. The conference includes an invited distinguished lecturer and essayist, several tutorials, a case studies track, and a technical program composed of peer-reviewed paper presentations. The prestigious National Computer Systems Security Award is also presented at ACSAC by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA).

Zakon notes that it was his involvement with ACSAC that led to the original development of OpenConf, Zakon Group's conference and peer-review management software used by hundreds of events worldwide. He will continue as a member of the organizing committee next year, and says he is "already looking forward to learning of the latest work and exchanging ideas with some of the most recognizable names in the computer security field."
